Duns councillor welcomes new houses - 50 objections
The BBC News website reports that the SBC Councillor for Duns (previously mentioned here for bizarre letters to the Berwickshire News) has welcomed the plans for 62 additional houses in the town despite 50 objections received by the planners at SBC. Is this a wise move less than 6 months from election day?

Just seen this and blogged about it-we also have a rather odd councillor whom we might lose at the next election with a bit of luck

The Bizarre Berwickshire Councillor has written a letter to the Berwickshire News saying he's not going to stand for re-election. Apparently he's joined to Greens and is off to save the planet....well something along those lines.

It was noticed in my scan today.... no doubt he's clearing off with several years' worth of our collective Council Tax in the Golden "Sod Off" given to retiring councillors too
